A big win for California's parks and trails!

Hi Trail Supporter,

Great news! In the final hours of the legislative session, the lawmakers in Sacramento passed Senate Bill (SB) 5, the parks and water bond, which includes significant opportunities for trail investment.

Hundreds of messages and calls from caring trail supporters like you helped make this victory possible.

The bill now goes to Governor Jerry Brown, who has signaled his support, and will then go before the voters in 2018.

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy is part of the coalition that has supported this bill through the entire legislative process. We commend all our partners and allies who worked tirelessly to demonstrate to our representatives the urgency and importance of investing in parks, trails and water.

But it's not over yet.

The Legislature is putting this decision before California voters, who will ultimately decide in November 2018 whether to invest in parks, trails, open space and clean water. We’ll be counting on your support as we continue the fight.

It’s been 15 years since California passed a park bond—and thanks to your help, we're a giant step closer. Stay tuned for more ways you can help—but for now, let’s celebrate this important milestone!

Sincerely,

Laura CohenLaura Cohen
