Shining Sea Bikeway (Massachusetts): “Cool and refreshing, well-maintained and accessible,” is what the Boston Herald called the 11-mile paved pathway that skirts the shore of Cape Cod, adding that “Falmouth by bike is worth a road trip, from sea to Shining Sea.”
Kennebec River Rail Trail (Maine): The Portland Press Herald says of Augusta’s 6.5-mile scenic rail-trail: “The trail jumps up on Hallowell’s historic downtown brick sidewalks for a half-mile before rising up away from the road to far-reaching views of the massive river.”
Paul Bunyan State Trail (Minnesota): In this Star Tribune article, the vast rail-trail spanning more than 100 miles is described as “a great way to get off the highway and see a lot of northern Minnesota.”
